Mr Kosser stated that he was pleased to see that the letterpress machinists were sharing in the wave of concilia- ' tion passing over the northern industrial district. A .conference between the parties, had resumed in im, agreement upon all points excepting wages, bill a further. cuiU'vr.rnee. oh Saturday would probably end in a complete agreement, which the Court would be asked to accept as an Award. Mr Grosvonor stated the hookbinders were prevented from settling their dispute owing to a smali difference with the employers. Mr Justice Chapman suggested that if theditforeuce was only a small one, the parties might consult (he Chairman of the Conciliation Board. " Everything is going on so well here " added His Honor, " that we do not like to see this spoilt by a small hitch." Mr Grosveuor promised to, advise the employers to take t«y cauv-so suggested.
