I'ER I'RESS ASSOCIATION. Chmstciighcii, February 14. At the Supreme Court yesterday, in the case against John Ross, charged with keeping a gaming house, the Jury disagreed, laud were locked up till nearly midnight. This morning the case was adjourned till next session. The caso against Maurice Hcslip> connected with the Ross case, was adjournod till next session. Geo. Frances Luke Mulquceny, was convicted ot stealing a gold watch from David Brown on the Manuka, at Lyttclton on December 2i)th, and sentenced to four months' imprisonment,, prisoner already having been in gaol awaiting trial. John Taupoki, a Maori lad, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for indecent assault. Robert Cairns, a lad of 17, was acquitted on a charge of committing incest. John Bryne, convicted of having ou November oth. assaulted Janet Johnston, so as to cause her actual bodily harm, was sentenced to four months' imprisonment. Prisoner had already been imprisoned for three months awaiting trial
