COURT PROCEEDINGS. - Atokiand, January 8, .•. A case arising out of the recent disturbance in Queen street, during which the windows of the Zoalandia restaurent wero smashed, came before tho lohce Court to-day, when Alfred Stephon Amy was charged with throw mg a stone and damaging the window. He was committed for trial. Amy was a candidate for the Polico force. Two constables stated they saw I h.m throw the stone. For tho defence it was stated that Amy lifted his hand, ,and pointed, saying: " There goes the big window," and his action in pointing must have caused the police to believe he was throwing the stone. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £IOO each. Charges against several other persons in connection with tho disturbance have yet to be heard.
