A FAUTIIINIi DAMAGES FOR LIBEL. (Per Press Association.)' ]!LIiNlIl£l \l, Nov. 10. The Supreme Court was occupied to-day with the libel action of George Edwards Teisns S. J. Furncss (proprietor of the Marlborough Express). The claim was for £1( 00 damages for■ publication of a paragraph repicducing from the Mercantile Gazette the notice of a mortgage of £250 transacted by plaintili'. The jury returned a verdict of one farthing damages, each party to to pay its own costs.
