BUILDINGS WILFULLY SET ON FIRE
. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. V. An inquest was held to-day into the , circumstances surrounding' the (ire which occurred upon the premises ot Mis R. 'A. Garrett, milliner, and H.. Jacksui, lobacccnisl, at UtahuUu, I u\-(,n Oct. 7. Kvidciicc was given to the effect that the places, which were i separatid by an alley-way eight feet widj, were set on fire simultaneously - and that kerosene had been used, as s both placis caught fire upon the cor- ■ tiers oi rlic building facing the alley- ■ way, aod, according to two witnesses who discovered and suppressed the flames, Mr .Garrett appeared upon tho te.'iic two minutes after the alarm was given, fully dressed. Garrett, however, denied this. The places were not mueb damaged, and Garrett's sleek was insured for £IOO. A vcr- - diet thai, the place was wilfully set I' on lire was returned.
