THE GOVERNOR'S OVERLAND TRIP.
'' AIUUYAL A']' APCKLANU. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 7. The Governer, accompanied 'by Captain lSraithwaite, A.D.C., in Atickland from Rotorua by to-night's express. 'J'he overland journey from Wellington toj Rotcrutv was made by motor by the Vice-Regal parly, consisting of His Excellency, Lady Plunket, the Hon. K'alhleeni.Plunket, and Captain Brailhwaite. Pahiatua was reached on the first day, aiKl Napier on the second. Heavy rain detained the party at Napier Jot a day, but on Saturday thd journey to Taupo was covered. The. roads wero in a very bail state, but' there were no mishaps, and Taupo was reached late at night. After,a rough ride on the following day llotorua was reaih 1 - od, the roads on this stage also being in an unsatisfactory state. The trip, despite the unpleasantness incidental to rough! roads, proved most interesting, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the party. Lady Plunket and the Hen. Kathleen Plunket came on to Auckjaad on Alonday. The Governor, who will be in residence at Government House £or the, next two or .three months, will give the usual official dinner in honour of. the King's Birthday.
