* REASONS FOR POSTPONEMENT^ 1 (Per Press Association.) DCNEDIN, Oct. 13. In connection with the proposed - Workers' Conference which the Government is seeking to bring about, the executive of the Otago Provincial Council of the Farmers' Union passedthe following resolution '"That the executive, while having no wish to de> cline to send delegates, considers tli© matter should be fully discussed ty. all branches before any action is taken ; that time has not. been allowed to consult the branches ; that the subjects for discussion have not yet/' 5 becu properly formulated; that thebasis of representation is not made s clear; and that until these details , are popcily arranged, the executive 5 consider the conference premature,, j Messrs Clarke and Orbell were "ap« , pointed delegates in the event of tho conference taking place, The Otago Trades and Labour Council, afrer considering the question of the conference between employers and employed, resolved that the Premier be informed that in view of no satisfactory legislation being possible this session, the Council does not see the necessity for, or that arty conference.
