DEATH FROM PHOSPHOROUS POISONING
THE INQUEST. AUCKLAND, Sept. 16. The Coroner held an inquiry at Mount Albert into the circumstances at tending the death of a single woman named Elizabeth Jane Bennett. Dr. Roberton said that 011 conducting the post mortem examination he discovered all the evidence of phosphorus poisoning, the cause of death t in his opinion,' being acute phosphorus poisoning. He had. previously attended deceased, who seemed to be in a wild irrational slate, (but she did, not seem to be at. all dangerous, either to -herself or to others, and although decidedly eccentric, was not sufficiently peculiar to warrant being placed under any particular restraint. A vel'diot was returned : "That deceased came by her death through phosphorus poisoning, the poison being seli-adniinistered while deceased' was of unsound miud."-
