PERSONAL NOTES.
On Wednesday at Stratford, .Mr James Stewart, who for the last three years has acted as station-, master there, but is now transferred to Mosgiel, was presented with an address and a purse of sovereigns.
On Thursday evening n farewell social was tendered to Mr Alfred dray {late of the Central School stafl, but now headmaster at. Opunako) by a number of old boys. The gathering was helrj at the Imperial Hotel, Mr L. Smith presiding, and eulogistic references were made rela tivc to Mr dray's services in the cause of education and recreation, general regret being expressed at his leaving New Plymouth.
