•Messrs Rutherford and Witty complained of the tone of the letter they had received from the Rev. Dr. Gibh, President of the Bible in Schools League, accusing them of having broken their pledges to refer the matter of Bible-reading iu State schools to the people.
Mr Seddon said the House could not lft the incident pass unnoticed, and he moved that a breach of the privileges of the Housq lijml been committed by Dr. (libb. After considerable discussion this was carried by 37 to 47, and Mr Seddon intimated that he did not intend to proceed any further in the terMr Mas,sey then moved : "That the breach of privilege is sq slight that it is unworthy of further notiue." The debate was interrupted by the dinner adjournment, EVENING SITTING. The House resumed at 7.30 p.m. After further discussion orf the Gibb breach of privilege question, Mr Wilford, in order to terminate the debate, moved "the previous question," which was carried by 37 to 31, 'and the incident terminated. The land debate was then resumed and cmitinuetl throughout the evening.
