TIMBER FOR NEW SCHOOLS.
PROPOSED STATE SUPPLY. (Per Press Association.; AI'CKLANi), July 2i>. At a meeting of the Board of Education to-day, Mr J. I). McKenzie said he understood that the Govern ment had a timber mill in the King Country, alal he considered that it would be legitimate business for the Government to supply the Hoard with timber suitable for the building of schools and for their general rcquirementsj Hie timber could be cut and railed to various parts of the district. Mr Hobbe understood the Government were cuttflnß railway slee|>ers and bridge timbers only at their mill. Mr McKenzie gave notico <>f i»o----t on "That the Government be asked to consider the advlsableness of supplying building timber from the Government sawmills for the purpose of school buildings, to ,-n.ible the Board to get a good uniform quality of seasoned timber."
