Civil Servants' Superannuation.

At a large and influential meeting of Civil Servants stationed ia New Plymouth, held on Tuesday evening, to consider the question of a superannuation scheme, the following resolution was passed unanimously "That this meeting of Civil Servants desires that the Government should, during the present session, pass a Civil Service Superannuation Act, and, further, that a petition to Parjjpuiient urging action in this direction be forwarded to the member for the district, Wiiira n'spectful request that the same lie presented at once." It was also resolved that the petition to Parliament be circulated throughout the district for signatures. A local committee consisting of Mussrs llannisler (Lands and Survey), Fooken (fost and Telegraph), Hanks (Justice), limp top (Customs) Claike (Roads) and Johnston (Slock) was appointed, so that any question or point in connection with' the. proposed superannuation scheme Hiaf. irny come before the Central Committee in Wellington may -be at once referred to live local committee for examination, approval or suggestions.
