Among the n.ost appreciated of these were two quartette numr T , ilml Lmv " an<l HiII Ocr the l>owns," which were delightfully given by Hiss Nixon (soprano), Misi Stewart; (.alto), and Messts Jenkmson (tenor), and Hasam (bass). Some melodious selections were Plajod by the ordlestra, .Messrs K C.oldmg (piano), C. Jones and II Salt (violin), and 11. J m',', Tlu ' bv piuci ' s Inclined: William Tell," Alice, Where Arl I hou. and "Spirit of the Nations." and each won 'warm recognition from (he audience. The solo numbers were also most, pleasing. Miss Nixon rendered "Violets" with admirable effect. and had to respond to an oncore, adding another tasteful nuni. ber. Miss Loesch showed her capabilities vocalist with "The Old Countree," which proved very popular. Mr llaslam's' co,'»lrihuli*m was | "The Old Brigade," and he als'o was accorded the compliment of anl encore.
