The Coronial inquiry (into the circumstances surrounding the death of Peter McNab. of 'Auckland, and Joseph Sheldon, of Thames, whose bodies wqrc found in the bedrooms after the fire atj the Brian ; Born Hotel on Sunday week, Was hel& [this evening. was given j that the clothing on each body was | partly burnt o!T. . McNab foundlon his bed, face downwards.' Sheldon must have been overcome while i endeavouring to escape, as his bodywas found between- the bad and the door. A verdict that both were accidentally su(located during the fire \yas 'returned. The Thames Fire Brigade was eulogised by the jury for the splendid work done in suppressing the fire, as also Sergeant) Darby, of the local police.
