„,, NAPER, May 22. the continuous downpour of rai which has fallen since last nigh gives every indication of a flood it docs not soon cease. Report from several country districts, >rt celved at 8 o'clock this evening, slun that the rivers are rising fast: 1: town five inches of rain had falle between Wednesday and nine o'clocl tins morning, and it is estimate! 'that by i) a.m. to-morrow anothe two iffches will have to be added t< this total. The rainfall' for the firs four months of the year was onlj six inches, so that this has been ex ceeded during the past five days. In the Wharcomnracnui Reserve th< river is running about two .'set abovi the level of the road adjoining, bul it is not fpiite so high as it hasbeei n previous occasions.
