The Exhibition Deficit.

We understand thut the accounts will bo ready for. inspection on Wednesday morning next. "It will be remembered' that at the recent meeiy ing a resolution was" carried appointing Mr Samuel and any other two guarantors selected by him to incstigatc the accounts. We leurn from Mr Samuel that from tho information which he has received itl appears that the total number of guarantors is ninety only (guaranteeing in all £2140), and that tho majority are implicated either as members of committees or as having received moneys, or as having claims against the committees. It would seem that out of 26 guarantors for £SO each, there are only nine not implicated one way or the other, out of fourteen for £25 each, only five ; land out of forty-eight for £lO each only twenty-two-4.he remaining two for £3 each not being implicated. Mr Samuel is finding it difficult to select two capable men who are willing to undertake "the task, which must involve considerable time and work. Mr Samuel informs us that, judging from the printed list of members of committees, it appears that no less than 52 persons have acted ns members, and thus presumably contributed to the result, without guaranteeing sixpence.
