VAN BIENE JN "THE BROKEN MELODY." Public interest in the approaching visit of Van Biene and his London Dramatic Company is rapidly increasing. "Tho Broken Melody" has created a very favourable impression in Auckland, the critics agreeing that both play and players come quite up to expectations, while the exquisite 'cello playing of Auguste Van Bleno nightly arouses great, enthusiasm. Particularly is this the case when the musical portion is blended with the dramatic, us at the close of Act I. Van Biene's powers as an actor are only second to his musical ability, while each member of the company is reported lo be minontly suited to his or her respective parts.
