THE STATE COAL MINE.
TROUBLE WITH THE MINERS. THE MINE CLOSED DOWN. (Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, March 6. The working agreement between the management and the Miners' Union at the Scddonvillc State mine expired on Saturday, and the miners, it is understood, declined to renew' it, necessitating the closing down of the mine to-day. Mr Dishop, manager of the State mine, is expected from Greymouth in the morning, and it is hoped an amicable settlement of the difficulty will be effected. ■
