DROWNING FATALITIES.
(I'er Press Association.) I'ALMF.RSTON NORTH, Feb,. 13, John Ellis, aged 25, employed at Gregg and Green s flaxmill, Aorangi, was drowned in the Oroua River on Saturday afternoon. Deceased sank while swimming across the river, and though the body was recovered in a few minutes' all attempts at resuscitation were fruitless. His relatives are unknown. A double drowning fatality occurred at Foxton on Saturday afternoon, Edward Staff,, age d 22, and his nephew, Oscar Honore, aged 14, losing their livew while .'.wimmiiig [a the Manawatu River. The fatality was not known of till the young men failed to go home, and, then a search resulted in their clothes being iound on the river bank. Both bodlea were subsequently recovered.
