LETTER BOX.
(We arc not responsible for opinions expressed by correspondents.) TOO .MUCH WIND. (To the Editor.) Sir,—We of the neighbourhood of Str,union and To Honui have a resident amongst us living, as near us I can judge, in the vicinity of the Old Hospital ltoad, or, to be correct, the Mangorei Hoad. Now this individual possesses a bugle, and he does not forget to let people know it. Thank Heaven lie is 110 nearer to me. -How! h/s more immediate neighbours faro I shudder to think. Well, sir, to give the devil his due, I will say he is a complete master in the art of bugling, but my complaint is that once he starts he never knows when to stop, and he treats us to all the calls from the "Reveille" to "Lights out," and, I should think, all other calls known to llritish regulations or otherwise. I have been lying ill for some weeks, and I have fully appreciated my windy friend's "concerts." To give you an instance of one of his performances : Last evening he started shortlyHifter 9.30 p.m. and concluded at 10 p.m., by which time, could I have got at that bugle with an axe,. I think f would huve flattened It out." I crave 'iyour indulgence, Sir, for encroaching on your valuable space : but should you consider my complaint justified by inserting this letter, my windy friend may perhaps bo induced to reduce the draught. "Hinc illao lacryninc."— I am, etc., > EUNEST WASTNEY.
