PERSONAL NOTES.

Sir Walter Duller will return to New Zealand from London about the end of the year. He intends to settio down permanently on his property on thp shores of Laae Papaitomga, near Levin,. Mr F. W. Ward, editor of the Sydney Daily Telegraph, arrived in Wellington 011 Wednesday by the steamer Moeraki, on a holiday tour and proceeded south by the same steamer yesterday. Mr Ward is a native of tho Taranaki district, his father having been a well-known missionary, and his brother,, who died two or three years ago, a 'JudgVi of tho Native Lands Court. In his youth Mr Ward was out ngainst the Maoris, and fought under Sir Harry Atkinson.
