Fourth Annual Sports. The weather was somewhat uncertain on Thursday for the Stratford Caledonian ['Society's sports gathering, and ns u consequence the attendance of the public was detrimentally affected. Notwithstanding this fact, however, n very fair day's sport was witnessed, though no exciting finishes were recorded, except in the Mile Handicap, which Arnott placed to his credit as the result of a brilliant final effort. The officials worked well to get the various events off.. The Highland element was well in evidence, and a good deal of interest was taken in the events set apart for the "kilties." Thej Taranaki l'ipe Hand pluyed on the [ground, and also inarched through the town in the morning before tlie sports commenced.
