The Hank ol England return, issued lor the week ending Wodnes | day, November 9th, includes the following! figures:—Gold coin, etc., £31,892,000 ; reserve, £24,328,000 ; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 52.30; notes in circulation, £27,934,000 ; public deposits, £6,846000 ; other ' deposits, £89,517,000. Government securities, £15,160,000 ; other securities, £24,702,000. GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. Imperial Consols, £BB 3s 9d ; New South, Wales 1 3 per cents', £BS ; Victorian 4 per cents, £lO4 10s, ilj per cents, £97, 3 per cents, £B6 1 10s ; other stocks are unchanged. THE MONET MARKET. The market rate of discount tot best three months bills is J pur cent, higher, at 2 15-16 per cent. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE Wheat—Markets ore firm, but quiet, and cargoes arc inactive'. Australian, no*- arrival, Is quoted (it 33s per quarter, October-Novem-ber shipment 33s 3d to 33s 6d, Ja-nuary-February shipment 33» 6d. The American visible wheat supply is 48,752,000 bushels. Flour is dull, and nominally unchanged. liutter.—The market is quiet. Banish is unchunged, Victorian 100s to 102s, New South Wales 98s to 100s, Queensland and stored New Zoaluml 91s.
Rabbits.—Quiet, and prices unchanged. Sugar.—Prices exhibit a tendency to strengthen, owing to unfavourable crop reports. First mark granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, 14s Bd, German beet, 88deg., 13 8 fid per cwt.
Bradford tops.—The market is very animated. Common 40's 14} d, 46's 15Jd, common 60's 2.'Hd, super 60's 24jd. The Antwerp wool sales are fixed for the 17th and 18th, when 3715 bales of La Plata clips will bo offered.
THE PRICE OF METALS. Copper.—Spot, £64 7s 6d ; three months, £64 17s Od per ton. Tln.-Spot, £132 7s 6d per ton. Pig iron.—Middlesborough No. 1 45s 0d per ton. Lead, £l3 10s 3d per ton. Speltor, £24 2s 6d per ton. Silver.—2s 2jq per oz. Wolfram, quoted at 33s ; prcsont requirements covered.
