Bible in Schools.
DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Fov. 3. Representatives of the Bible in Schools party waited upon the Premier to-night to ask if Mr. Seddon could introduce some modification of the referendum bill, say a measure of ono or two clauses referring to the people direct the Bible in schools question. Mr. Seddon said none of the deputation were more keenly disappointed than he was in the rejection of the referendum bill by Who Legislative • Council. He feared, however, that there were a large number of members an the Lower House who in their (hearts hoped the Council would kill the bill. So far as a 1 straight out i.s.-ue in Bible reading in schools was concerned they would find that there were members! who whilst supporting a general referendum would not support the single isSU t-n r ° Po , B ? d - He « ™t think such a bill could pass.

On every question involving great moral issues the voice of the united Christian Church, must be heard.
