o AN IMPORTANT CONTRACT. A meeting of the executive oi the National Dairy Association was held on Wednesday at Pahnerston North, for the purpose of conlirming the contract between the Association and the Wellington Meat Export Company for the freezing of the Association's output. The agreement provides :—For butter lor export to London, South Africa, and Canada; taking delivr ery, placing ill freezing chamber and shipping arid wharfage, per box of 561b uett weight or under, for first calendar month or part thereof, 6d ; for each succeeding month 3Jd. For butter stored for local or colonial use, per box of 561b, first week or part thereof, 3Jd ; for each succeed■ng week, ljd. Butter can be stored either in the freezing chamber or cool chamber a t the owner's option. For boxes exceeding 561b weight charges will be arranged. The contract has to be for a term of three years, ending September Ist, 1907.

It was ail-ranged to make representations to the Minister for Railways, with a view to obtaining a rer duction on the railage on dairy produce to the ports of shipment. Arrangements were also entered into for the supply of factory regulates for. the 1905 and 1906 seasons.

The Department of Agriculture is to be asked as to its intention in regard to the report made during the annual meeting of the association on contageous mammatis and other diseases of stock.—Manawatu Times.
