MR TAYLOK M'OVES AN AMENDMENT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Augusts. On tho House resuming this evening Mr Symes having spoken on the financial debate, Mr Taylor moved as«n amendment, " That in, view of the surpluses of the past few years culminating in the enormous sum of £649,740, this House urges the Government to consider whether the time hajd not arrived for (a) increasing the amount payablo to old age pensioners, (b) grantingi the pensions to women at 60 instead of 65, (c) exempting the value of pensioners' bona fide homes in assessing income so long as they do not bring in u.' money revenue.''' Mr Seddon said he bad not the slightest intention of maktog this a no-confidence motion. ' On division the amendment was negatived by 43 votes to 13, and the financial debate was continued by Messrs Honaro Kaihau, and Hone' Hoko,
