Municipal Conference.

(Per Press Asssciation.) WELLINGTON, July 18. The Municipal Conference openod its annual session this morning. Tlve Mayor of Wellington presided. There was a large .attendance of delegates from all parts of the colony. It was resolved that the stuffing of rolls by manufactured claims on behalf of lodgers, members of families, ami others* ho pro'hilntcd by legislation ; that the law be made clearer regarding the procedure in connection with the preparing! of supplementary lists ;. and that the regulation bo amended so that an elector shall be informed when his name is struck off. The conference passed a number of motions recommending alterations in the Municipal Corporations Act. A motion that a winking fund be provided in the case of every municipal loan was rejected by six votes. To-morrow the delegates will inspect tho municipal works, tramcars, etc.
