—,—_». . A COLLISION ON THE KINGSLAND LINE. TWO MEN INJURED. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, July 18. The Kingsland tnuncar this morning in Symonds-streel collided with and smashed the City Council's sev-enteen-ton road roller. The car was derailed, and injured in the forward part. Two passengers—W. H. Warnock (commercial traveller) and P. D. Duacen, both Mount RoskiU residents, each had an arm broken. The other passengers were bruised. A smull boy riding on the sand box had a marvellous escape. The car contained several survivors of the disastrous Kingsland collision last Uhri..',:nus. One pi., -engcr told a reporter that he was staled inside. Every seat was occupied, the car having been stopped at the end of SymondsHtrcet to lessen overcrowding. After leaving the top of the street the car travelled at a rapid rate, and did not puil up again till it encountered the steam roller. The latter was moving towards the car. The driver either of tho tram or roller failed to calculate tho distance and a collision resulted. The tram came almost to a doad stop. There was a tremendous shock, which threw everyone out of their scats. .Several ladies screamed with night. Nobody inside the car was hurt.
