Clergy In Conference.
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, May 31. Church union was the chief topic for discussion at the meeting of the Ministers' Association. Dr. Gibb delivered an address on the necessity of union between evangelical churches, and in the course of his remarks denounced denominationalism as obscuring the great fact of the unity of the Christian churches. Denominati anal ism, he contended, ought to go unless its going involved the overthrow or obscuration of any great religious truths. He held, however, that there was no call for the sacrifice of any essential truths, and that the time had passed when a distinction between the church<* was necessary. He concluded by saying that there was no valid reason why the unity of the evangelical churches should not be expressed in am external, organic, and corporate union. On Dr. Gihfo's motion a resolution was unanimously carried affirming the desirableness of taking steps to consider the possibility of an organic union. /
