Miss Belle Napier.
H hen Miss llello I-litchinga left thi' colony for London she was known chiefly to the people of her own native town of Napier as a clever young exponent of opera and comedy. She returned lately as Miss llelle Napier—a noui de theatre assumed out of compliment to her birthplace—ripe with experience gained in the English provinces and in London, and on Friday next at St. Mary's Hall New Plymauth people will have an opportunity of seeing her unique entertainment. For it is unique ; few women could undertake the task of amusing a hall full of people for a couple of hours, unaided. Miss Napier does it and with marked success. iler entertainment consists of recitations and humorous sketches ; some of the latter by permission}of Mr George Orossmith, the society entertainer. She has great dramatic ability and elocutionary powers, and her items vary from grave to gay, 'from " The Sacristan's Story " and 44 The Tired, Brother " to " The Matinee Hat " and " .Hailway Travelling." As advertised in another column Miss Napier will give a recital at St. Mary's llall on Friday evening.
