A movement is on foot to start an Association football club here. ■Mr. ' Clark (Messrs Clark aid Co.; has bad the matter in hand for -tome time, with the result that •bine "soccer " enthusiasts met last night and decided to call a meeting of those interested to take plica in the Town Hall. Mr Clark Has formerly an Auckland rep. in Association footfball, and it is understood that there are many others hare who prefer the game lo Rugby. It is jquite possible that arrangements will be made to play a match against the men of the H.Ms. Psyche during her stay. The foltowing players have been picked to represent Star seniors against Inglewood on Thursday at fogHewood Full-back, L. Hill ; threecfuarters, Humphries, Callender, and Pycroft; five-eighths, Allen ; half, Laxtner; forwards, Pulfoid, Kivell, Stroud, Stokes, Allen, Weir, Smith, Ryan, Murphy. The Warn will leave by the one o'clock train. Star B. second juniors meet the A. team on the racecourse ground on Thursday. The B. team will be Backs, Brown, A. Pearce, McMillan, B. Allen, Stockman, C. Hoskln ; forwards, Bond, J. Jo'hnson, Woods, 0. Lowe, E. Bellrioger, Wilson, J. Hosktag, W. Lowe, D. Johnson ; emergencies, G. Pearce and P. Eva. Bothery is unalble to play on Thursday owing to -a bereavement in the family. Out hie is not expected to play in the next few matches, having strained, a Mgiment in his leg. Mynott has also knocked his knee slightly, and will not 'be in the pink of condition for Thursday's games. In senior matches for the Wamgttnui Rugby Union's cup on Saturday, Waverley and College plated a drawn game, each side scoring eleven points. Pirates, last year's champions, .beat Old Boys by 10 to nil. Kaierau beat Wanganui by 23 points to 8.
In third-grade football Haverley Old Boys by 42 points to nil. At Weliinlgton Paneke beat'Orien. tal by 15 to 8. Melrose defeated Old Boys by 6 to 3, and Welling, on bad to own Petcme's superiority the scores being Petone 14, Welling on At Christehurch Linwood.beat Old Boyfrby 26 to nil ; Sydenham beat •Chnstchurch by 5 to nil ; Albion teat CanteHbury College by 0 to ml.
