AX UNFOUNDED liEFORT. ALARM IN A JAPANESE COLONY JAPANESE FLEET OFF VLADIVOSTOK. (Received April 20, ll.no p.m.) LONDON, April 2li. Recent reports as to the 1 presence of Cossacks between Gensan ami I'ukcheng for the purpose of creating ta diversion on the Japanese right are discredited. They never were ofiicially confirmed. Yesterday the unprotected Japanese colony of Gensan was alarmed by the arrival of three cruisers and two torpedo craft belonging to the Vladivostok scfuadtion which sank the 371-ton steamer Goyo Maru. The cruise is attributed to be undertaken with the idea of intercepting unprotected transports. A message received at St. Petersburg reports that the Japanese warships are aff Vladivostok.
JAPANESE CROSSING THE YALU. (Received April 26, 11.SO p.m.) LONDON, April 26. General Kuropatkin reports that •two Japanese companies of infantry and some cavalry crossed the Yulu near Siamopussikhe above Wiju Leneral Sassulitch has reinforced the outposts. Tlie JapOUieso are preparing to cross iffiar Pyokdtong.
