THE COMMONWEALTH.
A FEDERAL PROBLEM. MELBOURNE, Feb. 2. At the Australian Natives' Association banquet, Mr Deakin, Federal Premier, said the problem lacing the Federal Government was how to conduct a Parliament which, instead of having a majority and a minority had three practically equal parlies'. The Question was unique and absolutely impossible, and could not continue. It was essential ttiat as soon as possible the three parties should somehow or other be revolved into two, in order that constitutional Government might be carried out. He had not the slightest idea which of the two parties ■were going to unite, but unite they must.
