WELLINGTON, Nov. 24. At the Supreme Sourt, Thoa. Chesland, a half-caste Maori, was found guilty of assault and causing bodily harm to James Wirk, aged 70, at MartinWorough. He was remanded for sentence. John Moffitt, for stealing from a person, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment, and on a charge of escaping from the Terrace Gaol while in custody awaiting trial was given six months.
