IMPORTS AND EXPORTS. Thursday (light's Gazette contains details of the. imports to and the exports from New Zealand for the quarter ending Sept. 30 last. The imports total £3,451,891, as compared 'with £3,216,891 for tho corresponding-quarter last year. This gives an increaso of £135,000, but in addition to this it must be stated that last year's figures included the abnormal quantity of £224,205 worth of specie, against £87,468 for 1903, so that we really imported more dining this year's third quarter to tho large amount of £271,737, excluding specie. The exports from the colony during the three months under notice wero valued at £2,691,139, compared with £2,806,823 last year. This comparison is not affected by specie, that item figuring at a little over a thousand pounds for each year. Auckland leads oft with £588,682, against £473,011 last year, Lyttelton following closely with £503,641, a drop from £522,715. At tho port of Wellington the exports for the three months fell from £384,484 to £306,138. LONDON, November 8.
