The visit lasted half an hour, and His Majesty expiessed bis pleasure at the work, particularly at the introduction of Sir Hecry Parkes' portrait. He was greatly interested and gave permission for the reproduction of the picture. The Princess of Wales, attended by Lady Laroir-gton and Lady Mary Lygon, paid a visit later to view the completed picture. Pabis, November 6. The Humbert's appeal was disallowed.
