ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, September 14. R, W. Panfold, a member of the Post and Telegraph Rites, who was shot in the back when marking on the iPolbiil Gully range on April 4, died this morning at the hospital. He was a native of Oamaru. An inquest will be held to-morrow. D CNF/din, Septembhr 14. Wm, Brotherston, a miner, aged 65 dropped dead while talking to a comrade yesterday. Alexander Hay, who had been janitor at the Girls High School, was found hanging in a sbed at the back of his residence late thi3 afternoon, having evidentiy committed suicide. The deceased, who leaves a widow and family, had been in bad health for some time, and his family were also in indifferent health. This led to his resignation and he was to have left the house to-morrow, Christchuroh, September 14. F. A. Grantham, who is well known in Wellington, died suddenly at Rangiora yesterday. He had gone to visit his father-in-law, C. Bonham, on account of ill health sad collapsed suddenly. He leaves a widow and two children, who were expecting him back in Wellington in a few days.
