PER PBESS ASSOCIATION. Ohkistchuech, August 14. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Ohirles and Alice Hankins were committed for trial on a charge of wilfully neglecting a child named Charles Leonard Leaman in a manner likely to Ciuse unnecessary suffering. An attempt w<*s mide by couns 1 for the dif>mce to show that the child was put in the outhouse to sleep because of his dirty habits, but the matron of the Samaritan Home, where the child had been for the last seven daye, stated ha had not exhibited dirty habits. Biil was allowed in each case, in the sum of £SO and two sureties of £ls. An application will be mx-le to kave the child committed to ;.n industrial home.
