BAND OF HOPE.

The usual monthly meeting of the Whiteley Band of Hope was held last oight. In spits of the cold night there was a very large attendance. Recitations were given by Miss Muriel Oliver, Master Ken Shorney, and Mr Ohrisbopher; soogs were rendered by Miss Pikett, Messrs De h Ray, and A. Veale ; addresses were delivered by Mr J. A, Roberts on the evils of cigarette smokiog among boys, and Rev. F. A. Bennett. Mr Roberts also gav.i one of his popular whis'ling soke, The programme concluded with a dialogua (well rendered) entitled " Something to their Advantage," by Messrs Wm. and Arthur Hayward, V. Griffiths, Francis Morshead, and L. Pepperell. The Rev. J, N. Buttle presided.
