Per Press Association. Auckland, Ju'y 2, Ernest Cross, when in company with •lis wife and child, was walking along Franklyn Road at 11 o'clock last night when he was attached by two burly ruffians. One rushed him, and the other attsmpted to seize a hand-bßg he carried. Mrs Cross screamed, and the assailants fled without the bag, whioh rthey evidently believed contained Cross' shop takings. ! Cress was considerably knocked I about, and his wife sustained a severe shock.
