DEPUTATION TO MINIBTKB Ot LANDS. N« PUSS ABBOOIATKW. Wellington, July 2. A deputation, consisting of Mean* Byme, M jor, Jennings, McNab, and Ell, waited on the Minister of Lands this morning, with a view to preventing the destruction of bush on the Rotok»re Reserve. The Miaister expressed his sympathy with the object of the deputation, and states that if the Publio Domains Act gives the necessary pjwer he will hive a new Board appointed! and authority given to arrange for the present destruction being discontinued, Be also stated that it was intended to introduce legislation empowering the Government to take over such spot*, and themselves administer them. It was suggested that the members of the new Board should be the four Tmrsnaii members, the Commissioner of Orowa Lands, and Messrs F. Smith and W, Skinner,
