Wednesday, 6th Ma?.—Before Mr-R. L. Stanford, S,M. ATTEMPT TO STEAL A BIOYCLE. W. McKeegan phased guilty to a charge of attempting to staal a bicycle at Waitara on the 2nd instant, the property of Gaorga Gudgeon. Sentence was deferred, pending inquiries as to character, DOMESTIC INFELICITY. John E. Minnia appeared to answer a charge of crualty aud.neglect of bis wife, and to show cause why a separation order ehauli not be granted. It appeared from the wife's evidence that ;tie parties had bdea married for six years, but that for the greater portion of the time the bad bean addicted to druukannes?, and during last ( year he had acu-d wiih cruelty, b.ing sometime* violent, and on several occasions had thru iteued bis wife's life. After hearing Mr T. 8. Weston, for the defence, Hts Worship said he would not interfere unless on the strongest evi• dence, and that though the evidence showed grave misconduct on defendant's part, he could not make the order asked for. Mr Govefcli appeared for Mrs Minnis. '
DRUNK 6NNKSS. Thomas L. Oyle was fiaed 5i and costs for drunkenness.
