THE FRENCH ELECTIONS.
A GOVERNMENT MAJORITY. PES PRESS ASSOCIATION. Paris. April 28. At the elections, M. Paul Oassagnac wag badly defeated. The Nationalists have ground in the provinces, but have increas j d in Paris. Ths final results are expected to show a Government gain of forty or fifty suats. GOVERNMENT MAJORITY OF 100. Received 30, 0.14 a.m. Paris, April 29. By the elections the Reactionaries and Revolutionists are much weakened. The anti-Semetic party bas almost disappeared. Ministerialists were elected for two hundred and forty-six departments, including Republicans 88, Radicals 95, Socialist-Radicals 41, and Socialists 22. Th« Nationalists elected 32 deputies, Conservatives 66, snti-Minietmal Republicans 66, and dissentient Socialists two. Out of 175 second billo's required to be taken it lis expected the Ministry will win 125, thus securing a steady majority of 100 in the Chamber of Deputies. |
