TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. | The annual meeting of the Taranaki j Rugby Union was held in the County J Hotel on Friday evening. It was resolved that Stratford be the headquarters of the Union, j Officers were elected u follows: —■,
President, Mr Alfred Bayly ; secretary, Mr 0. Arndt; treasurer, Mr W. Beoket ; .; management committee, Messrs Bellringer (Star), BuehaMn (Waiter*), Spurdlii (Inglewood), Webster (Tukapa), Nuttall (Kltharn); assistant secretary, Mr F. Bollringiir, auditorj Mr F. W. Webster. The following were nominated: Viae-pres dent New Zealand Union, Mr A. Bayly; delegate to New Zealand UnioD, Mr McLean. Rule 7 wts ol'ered to lead that the Selection Committee consist of .one member (not necessarily a delegate) to j i be appointed by the Union. j 1 Mr Alf Bayly was elected sole se- j j lector. I Messrs Allen and O'Dowda not being present their caps were handed < to the representatives of their respective clubs to present. The Lyttslton Olub wrote thnt th«r junior ttam would bs touring TaraDaki, and asking what percentage of gute money would be allowed then. Thu secret-try was instructed to suggest that the Lyttelton Oiub play the winners of the northern and southern divisions, and that all gate money Us< ) actual expensos ba allowed them, I Consent was given ti Tukapa Club to play agmateh with Eltham for the j bernfit of Mr L. Duffin.
The Diamond F otball Olub wrote asking that the New Plymouth southern boundary (coastal) be extended to the New.ill-roa , War.a.—Acceded to, the club to be iuformed that if they wisb to affiliate with the Unijntbey must send a senior tenm. The Normunby Club wrote asking ta affiliate with the Union.—lt was decided that tho district w»s too small to support two clubs, and the application was refused. Mr Buchanan moved, and Mr Spurdle seconded, "That the Union {show in a smtil way their Appreciation

Mr Buchanan, in tho motion, eulogiaei the secretary's work in bringing the finu ces of the Unoa practically from bankruptcy to solvency. Mr Ta ton, while i bunking the membars of the Union for their remarks, could not accept the bonus, as he considered the funds could not stand if. To put the Union in a sound financial condition he advocated playing all representative matches where most gats money could be obtained—that is to say, at New Plymouth—but that as goon as the financial position of the Union was sufficiently strong to warran'' it the mate aeß be distributed. i The motion was withdrawn, find the ' Management Committee uuihorised to make a suitable presentation. , j A vota of thanks was accorded to Mr' A.
