Auckland, March 20. j A woman, Jessie Gill, aged 87, died ( at tbe hospital from bursa sustained through setting fire to bedding while pursuing the habit of smoking in bed> Wangahci, March 20. A mau named Samuel Toslin was found dead in bed on Wednesday evening, An inquest was commenced to-day, but was adjourned to etfable further inquiries to be made. Nelson, March 20.

The. injuries are not thought to be serious, but there is danger of the boy losing on« eye. - An accident happened to thu Blenheim coach this morning at Wangamoa Bill. Ont wheel came off, letting the ceach down. Tha passengers were spilled,' but the horses were kept in band, and nothing worse th na few bruises were sustained. One of the passenger* obtained a bicycle and rode in for another vehicle. *
