King's block reads on one side " Binds in harmony and harmony in bands," and on the other " Mu*ic hath power all hearts to sway." The sign suspended between Messrs Whitaherand Govett's buildings in Devonstreet reads on one side, •' Music gladdens the eartb," and on the other " Such music (as 'tis said) before was never heard." The example set by th>> Contest Committee is being" followed by many citizeos, who have givan orders for greenery, flags, etc. Two of the competing hands have arrived, and several are export-d in the course of to-day.
