TARANAKI EDUCATION BOARD.

A committee consisting of the Chair-' man, Messis MacKav and Kennedy,' was appointed to consider tbe question of enlarging InglewooJ and Norfolk-1 road schools and to consul!; the School committee thereon. Consideration of the question of additions to Toko' school was held;ov-.r till the committsß's report was b»for« the Board. The quastion of selling the Wortl yroad school building was referred t9 the chairman with power to act, and the architect was instructed to pre-; pare plans for a new school, to be, arected on the site provided by the Schoil Commissioners. I Considerable discussion took place I over the allocation of the building grunt amounting to £1732 lis 3d, and eventually the following items were agreed to: -Architect, .£80; appwatus, £100; furniture, £100; advertising, £2O; shelter sheds, £80; painting, £250; total,£63o. Enlargements:— Salisbury-road, £SO; Cour.ney-street, £55 ; West Infants, £330 ; making altogether £1065, This will leave about £667 avai'able for all the other requirements in the whole district. The , allocation of this sum was postponed , until after the report of the special t committee with reference to ealarge- , ments at Inglewood was considered.
