" Sanoho," who writes for the Melbourne HenM, is one of the best known musical critics in Australia, The following is from his pen, referring to> one of Mdlle. Dolores' Melbourne concert's: —" To go away from a concert and have nothing to criticise is a d. e : d«dly awkward position for a musical critic. Tbe writer then refers in most flattering terms to each item. "Mr Newell is an ideal accompanist, was well received in interesting variations (op. 29) by Schut k , a rather indifferent ' Gondoliera ' (op. 47) by Moszkowgky, aud Chopin'd Preludes Nos. 3 and 6 (op. 38), and Etude No. 5 (op. 10), and was prevailed upon to grant two enc res."
