TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.
IN addition to the business already reported, the Presbytery on Thursday agreed to appoint Mr Chappie for twelve months at Eltham, on the conditions mentioned by the committee for that district, «
It. was agreed to appoint R jv. Ivo E. Be'ram, M.A,, as Moientor for Eltham, the appointment to date from 6th February, 1902. It was agreed that the Clerk of Presbytery oonfer with Mr MoColl, of Awatuna, re studies at Dunedin, and report. The Presbytery granted this Stratford congregation power to borrow £6OO at a rate not to exceed 6£ per cent., and that the mortgage ba on the church property. It was agreed that the matter of Eltham loan be brought up at the meeting to be held at Manaia in March. The plan of a new cburch for Inglewood was laid on the table. With modifications, the plan whs approved of, and power was granted to bor.qw J2OQ.
It was agreed to gi ant to Mr Toompsjn power to baptise in the district of Inglewood. A lecture by Mr P. MoOoll was sustained.
A sermon by Rev. J. Obapplff was sustained.
The clerk was instructed to inquire from Rev. J«s. Doull, Bull?, re Students' Bursary Fund. Mr Qj borne gave notice of motion re appointment of an executive to represent the Presbyterian Ohurch of New Zealand.
The Presbytery adjourned to meet again for ordinary business at Waveiley, and for visitation of the congregation on Thursday, the 17th April, 1902.—Star.
