FIRES.

OUTBREAK IN NEW PLYMOUTH. About 4.20 on Wedpesday a fire was discovered in a shed at the rear of Mr G. Braund's furniture warehouse, used as a storeroam for tow, kapoc, etc. The Central Brigade Station was immediately telephoned to, and in a few minutes tbe Brigade, under Captain Bellringer, were on the scene. Two streams of water were at once played upon the shed, which was a miss of flame, and the fire was got under before it could spread to the adjoining buildings. It was fortunate that there wag no wind blowing at the time, as besides buildings in close proximity, there was a large stock of timbtny belonging to the Sash and Dsor Cotfnpany, in the yard adj lining on one side. The shed was practically gutted, and the contents totally destroyed. The damage is rstimateJ q.t about #45, und there were no insurances.
